All parents/guardians of active enrolled players of CAHA Travel Hockey are members of the CAHA Booster Club Organization. Our purpose is to support the promotion and development of youth hockey at Center Ice, and providing a safe and fun environment for youth hockey with the players benefit and interest in mind.
The CAHA Booster club is responsible for fundraising and sponsorship activities, support of activities to enhance promotion of youth hockey at Center Ice, providing CAHA youth with a fun, competitive hockey team experience, and support of the CAHA Foundation and Hockey director with all hockey activities at center ice.
The Booster Club is managed by an elected Board of Directors which meets a minimum of once every month during hockey season from August until April. All Board meetings are open to all parents and coaches of CAHA hockey. The Board positions are:
President - Eric Paquin (email@example.com)
Vice President - Julie Bickis (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Treasurer - Kendra Ward (email@example.com)
Secretary - Stephen Bell (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Tournament Director - Jill Schwarzbek (email@example.com)
Spiritwear Chair - Karen Jankowski (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Commmunications/IT Chair - Stephen Bell (email@example.com)
In addition to the elected positions, there are representatives of each team (one per team) who sit on the board to represent the interests of each travel team. Elections for Board Positions are held in the Spring. Each family will have two votes for the elected board positions.
The Booster Club organizes fund raisers for CAHA throughout the year. The main annual fundraiser is a reverse raffle dinner held in the Late Winter / Early Spring of each year. The funds raised through these efforts supports the hockey organization with reimbursing Head Coach & one Assistant Coach certifications for each team, purchases of equipment for team use, offsetting dues for tournament costs, purchase of coaches jackets, and other costs in support of CAHA youth hockey as decided by the board. The registration costs for travel hockey paid to Center Ice arena only pay for ice time for practices and games, and referee costs. All other costs are covered by fundraising efforts or must be passed on to the families.
We encourage all families to take active participation in the CAHA booster board and the annual fundraiser activities. Support of the parents is needed to ensure the continued success of the CAHA youth hockey organization and to provide the best possible experience for the players and coaches of CAHA. If you are interested in helping out either as part of the board or as a parent volunteer, contact any of the current board members for more information. We are looking forward to a great 2018-2019 hockey season!
